Terms of Service
The short version: Shopfront is an AI-assisted website builder for small businesses. Use it for your own business, review AI-generated content before publishing, and keep your account secure. You own the sites you build and the downloadable artefact packs.
1. Service description
Shopfront ("the Service") is a web application operated by Lotlsoft, Melbourne, Australia. The Service extracts content from existing websites, runs SEO and content audits, rewrites copy using AI, builds static websites, and hosts them on a shopfront.lotlsoft.com subdomain or a custom domain you own.
2. Account requirements
- You must be at least 18 years old to use this Service.
- You must provide a valid email address to create an account.
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
- One account per business owner. Each subscription covers a single business and a single site.
3. Subscription and billing
- Shopfront is nineteen Australian dollars per month, billed in advance via our payment provider (Stripe, via Lotl Pay).
- You can cancel at any time from account settings. No refunds for partial months.
- Your hosted site goes offline at the end of your current billing period after cancellation.
- The free audit at /audit does not require an account or payment.
- If you dispute a charge, email billing@lotlsoft.com within 30 days of the charge date and we will investigate before you raise a chargeback with your card issuer.
4. Content you provide
- You must own or have permission to use any content you upload or extract.
- You must not use Shopfront to create sites that are illegal, defamatory, or that infringe someone else's intellectual property.
- You remain the owner of your content at all times. We do not claim any rights to it beyond what is necessary to host and serve your site.
5. Acceptable use
Shopfront is built for ordinary small-business websites and some categories are out of scope regardless of whether they are legal in your jurisdiction. You must not use the service for any of the following:
- Cryptocurrency schemes, token sales, or "guaranteed returns" investment pitches
- Multi-level-marketing recruitment sites or pyramid schemes
- Unlicensed pharmaceutical sales, including prescription-only medications
- Counterfeit goods or trademark-infringing storefronts
- Adult or sexually explicit content, including legal adult-services businesses that we are not set up to host
- Gambling sites
- Malware distribution, phishing, impersonation of another business, or credential harvesting
- Content that incites violence, harassment, or discrimination against a person or group
- Scraping or enumerating the Shopfront platform itself
Some of the categories above are lawful businesses - they are excluded because Shopfront is not built to host them, not because we are making a moral judgement. We reserve the right to suspend any site that violates this section. Suspension means the published site is replaced with a short notice page; your content in the editor is preserved.
6. Content moderation
Every site is screened automatically at publish time by a keyword scanner and an AI classifier. High-confidence matches are placed into a staff review queue. We also accept abuse reports from any visitor via the "Report this site" link in the footer of every published site.
We do not show classifier scores to site owners. Legitimate small businesses are never penalised for being brief, unpolished, or unusual; the review bar is abuse, not polish.
7. Suspension and appeals
If a site is suspended, the site owner is notified by email with the reason. You can appeal by replying to that email within 30 days. We will review the appeal and restore the site if the suspension was mistaken, or explain the decision if it stands. Appeals are handled by a human, not an AI.
8. AI outputs
- AI-generated rewrites are suggestions. You are responsible for reviewing them before publishing.
- The humanise pass preserves every fact from the original, but you should still read what goes live.
- Shopfront does not guarantee that AI rewrites will improve search rankings, conversions, or any business outcome.
9. Hosting
- While you are subscribed, Shopfront hosts your published site on our infrastructure.
- We aim for high availability but do not offer a formal SLA.
- You can point your own domain at Shopfront. Your domain stays yours. DNS configuration is your responsibility; we will guide you through it.
10. Artefact pack ownership
You can download a complete artefact pack of your site at any time: HTML, CSS, images, JSON-LD, sitemap, robots.txt, and brand guide. The pack works standalone on any host you choose. If you cancel, the pack you already downloaded remains yours to use forever.
11. Cancellation and data deletion
- You can delete your account at any time from account settings.
- Account deletion removes all site content, analytics, form messages, uploaded images, push subscriptions, and billing history from our databases within 30 days.
- Published sites are taken offline immediately upon deletion. Custom domains remain yours - they have never left your control.
12. Limitation of liability
Shopfront is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. In no event will Lotlsoft be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising out of the use of or inability to use the Service.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts of Victoria.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be emailed to your account address with at least 30 days notice before they take effect.
